Mike Elko, who was the defensive coordinator for Notre Dame in 2017, is one of the highest-regarded coaches in the country when it comes to that side of the ball. Although Texas A&M's defense was solid in 2024, I think he would be the first to say they did not entirely live up to the standards he wants to set. Now, in year two of his system, I am expecting a big jump from that group, and Notre Dame should be as well. We already went over some things to look for from Texas A&M's offense. Now, let's flip it to the other side of the ball and discuss what the Fighting Irish could be facing from A&M's defense when they come to town.
