Although Fryzel visited right before the Irish Invasion weekend, the staff continues to prove its recent recruiting effectiveness, as Fryzel is now the third recruit to commit following this recent round of visits. The 2026 class is gaining a ton of momentum, and as the first tight end in the class, Fryzel is a big reason why.

Before joining the Fighting Irish, Notre Dame was going toe-to-toe with schools like Miami, Indiana, Duke, and Iowa, while also fighting off a local school like Cincinnati. In the end, Fryzel decided to be the next part of Notre Dame's illustrious history of developing great tight ends. Although he may not receive the same "pop" or excitement as a four- or five-star recruit, Fryzel is an upcoming prospect who brings impressive depth and talent to what is shaping up to be a special recruiting class.

Fryzel will be joining the Fighting Irish by way of Toledo, OH, where he has been a standout player at Central Catholic, the same school that gave Notre Dame DeShone Kizer. In the state of Ohio, Fryzel ranks as the 24th best player in the state, according to 247Sports, a respectable ranking for a state known for producing quality football players. Nationally, he is listed as the 23rd-best tight end in the country, according to 247Sports. Of course, those rankings can always change as he continues to play high school ball. Fryzel is a tad light for the position, weighing in at 220 lbs. Although that may be a little light, he has plenty of time to continue to bulk up, and he will surely put on weight once he joins the Irish strength program. His lighter frame does allow him to become a real threat in the passing game. Fryzel is a terrific pass-catcher, recording 46 catches, 807 yards, and 10 touchdowns during his 2024 season, according to 247Sports.

Fryzel is the first tight end to join the class, but he is not the only one Notre Dame is looking to add. 4-star tight end Ian Premer is another player that Notre Dame is recruiting heavily. With a commitment, they could be an image of what the future of the position looks like at Notre Dame. Tight end has always been a position Notre Dame and its fans take great pride in, so there are expectations Fryzel and others like him have to live up to. Regardless, Fryzel's commitment will continue to add quality players to the 2026 class and boost the class's overall rankings further up the national list.
