Marcus Freeman's recruiting takeover rolls onward, as the Irish have landed another elite talent and top target in 5-Star CB Khary Adams. The Fighting Irish remain red hot on the trail.

Notre Dame hosted a gargantuan amount of talent for Official Visits last weekend, and the results speak for themselves. Among those visitors were three key targets, which included newly committed 4-Star OT Grayson McKeogh, 4-Star CB Khary Adams, and likely more. Marcus Freeman and company have, without a doubt, done everything within their power to attract these elite talents to South Bend.

Notre Dame once again beat out early favorite Penn State, recruiting powerhouse Oregon, and other power four programs for the services of Adams. It seems that Notre Dame has hit its stride during the dog days of summer on the recruiting trail, and the commitment of Adams is a massive addition to Notre Dame's top-5 class.

Adams, a 6'1", 180 lbs corner out of Towson, Maryland, brings a host of physical and instinctual tools to South Bend. The Irish Tribune's Max Uretsky writes of Adams:

"Adams has elite height for the position, standing at 6'1", with a good wingspan and a frame that will still allow him to bulk up some. He possesses true 4.4 speed, which shows up on both sides of the ball as a cornerback and as a wide receiver, where he was able to average a little over 16 yards a catch during his Junior season. His change of direction is a crucial part of his athletic profile and serves him well, especially when in off coverage. Excellent stop and start ability with top-notch acceleration. Adams has short-area quickness, long speed, and everything in between. He has all the makings of a boundary corner, and his athleticism, paired with more development, gives him the chance to become a true lockdown."

With another key target in the fold, this class is shaping up to be one of the best not only under Marcus Freeman but possibly within the last decade. Notre Dame must now face the daunting task of surviving until signing day, which has been the Achilles heel of the recruiting department, especially when it comes to securing top-end talent. With that being said, the Irish have placed themselves in an incredible position to succeed, and fans should be thrilled with the efforts the staff have put forth to land elite talent. Notre Dame recruiting feels like it is turning over a new leaf.
