Notre Dame's dominance on the recruiting trail in the month of June continues, as they managed to secure the commitment of high 4-Star TE Ian Premer out of Great Bend, Kansas. Premer, a top 50 recruit, joins Joey O'Brien, Khary Adams, Grayson McKeogh, Preston Fryzel, and Charlie Thom as the sixth commit this month for the class of 2026.

Standing at 6'5", 225 lbs, Ian Premer is built to be the next great Notre Dame Tight End, and his play backs up the praise. Playing out of Great Bend High School this past season, Premer racked up 543 yards receiving and eight touchdowns, while also rushing for 260 yards and two additional scores on the ground. Premer's best performance of the season came against Buhler High School, where he hauled in five receptions for 167 yards and a staggering five touchdowns. Playing as a Free Safety on the other side of the football, Premer totaled 50 tackles and three interceptions in his Junior season. Premer would help Great Bend finish the season with a 9-1 record.

Premer's size, hands, and play strength make him a threat from anywhere on the field, and securing his commitment was no easy task. The Irish had to beat out in-state schools Kansas and Kansas State for the elite Tight End's services, and before today, things seemed to be trending away from the Irish. Like the majority of the battles for high-priority recruits this cycle, the Irish were able to close it out.
