Long, a 6-3 F, holds 37 offers, according to 247 Sports. On Wednesday, she announced her decision to commit to Notre Dame over UCLA and UConn. In the 2027 SportsCenter NEXT Super 60 Rankings, Long ranks as a five-star prospect, listed as the #5 overall recruit, #1 F, and #1 player from Kansas.

Coming out of the Sunflower State, Long attends Olathe South High School and also plays for Southwest Select on the 3Stripes Select Circuit (had a 52-point game last month). She also notably competed and won gold with the USA U16 National Team at the 2025 FIBA AmeriCup. Long impressed in the event, earning a spot on the All-Star Five as one of the top players in the tournament, as she averaged 11.8 points (60% FG%), 4.0 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game across six contests.

Long carried over her strong summer into a dominant 2025-26 high school season at Olathe South. After averaging 32.7 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.3 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game and leading the team to a 20-5 record, Long was awarded the 2025-26 Gatorade and MaxPreps Kansas Girls Basketball Player of the Year honors. Additionally, she was named to MaxPreps’ Junior All-American Second Team. While also becoming Olathe South’s all-time leading scorer, she set a single-game scoring record with 44 points this past winter.

In general, Long is the prototypical modern-day positionless big. There is a lot to like about her game, starting with her elite offensive bag. The Kansas native is able to score at all three levels and possesses good handles and footwork. Her rim-running ability should open up new facets of Coach Ivey’s offense that we have not been able to see before during her tenure. Lastly, on offense, Long demonstrates good court vision as a distributor with an adept basketball IQ. Defensively, her premium length and mobility contribute to her dominance around the rim, specifically with rebounding and blocking shots. Additionally, she is able to guard multiple positions, allowing for seamless switches.
